Last Minute DIY Gift Ideas

As we bundle up for the holidays, an all-time favorite beverage that helps us warm up from our head to our toes is a steaming mug of hot chocolate! What better way to show someone you care than by providing a complementary mug with a yummy treat included?

DIY Hot Cocoa Mug

 

Items Needed

• Plain mug. (Ceramic is better, but not necessary)
• Sharpie or paint marker

Directions

First, find a plain mug at the nearest store. Whatever style, shape or size you like will work just fine! To ensure the markers doesn’t wear off, we recommend a ceramic mug.

Next, use a Sharpie or paint marker to make a cool design on your mug. Draw mustaches, put cool hashtags or make it festive! The possibilities are endless.

Last, bake them in the oven at ?375 for 45 minutes. To avoid cracking, let them cool down in the oven for about 10–15 minutes, and enjoy your mug!

Hot Chocolate Spoons

Items Needed

• Chocolate chips
• Mini marshmallows
• Plastic spoons
• Plastic wrap
• A festive ribbon to wrap it up.

Directions

First, melt ½ cup of the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl for 1 minute. Stir the chocolate and continue to reheat in 20 second intervals while stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted.

Next, dip each of your spoons into the chocolate, flipping them on each side to get them completed covered. Another perk of making this gift is that you can make a large batch all at once, so you will have multiple gifts to pass out.

 

Set your chocolate covered spoons on a plate, and press as many marshmallows into the chocolate as you like. Place the plate with the spoons into the fridge for 15–20 minutes until the the chocolate can harden.

 

Once the chocolate has set, wrap each spoon in plastic wrap and tie them off with a bow using your ribbon.
