At Primavera, we have some of the best, most talented, hard working students there are! That’s why we’ve decided to shine the light on a few of our amazing students.
Each month, our teachers nominate a student they feel has gone above and beyond, and we get the opportunity to get to know them a bit in this blog!

Elementary School Student of the Month: Damian Lane
Damian is a kindergarten student who was nominated for Student of the Month by Kimberly Young.
“Damian is a superstar student! He takes his time and works hard to finish his coursework each day. He has an amazing grade in all his courses, and has made the Honor Roll! Damian attends all Live classes and is an active participant! He is an awesome Primavera Panther!!!”

Question: Why did you choose Primavera?
Wanted to do school from home like his big sister.
Question: What would you like your classmates to know about you?
I love going to my classes to see my friends and teacher.
Question: What makes you a successful student?
I complete my school work every day and join my classes.
Question: What advice would you give other students to be successful?
Come to class and do all the work.
Question: What do you want your teachers to know?
I like Mrs. Young she’s the best teacher and her classes are fun.
Elementary School Student of the Month: Natalie Vasquez
Natalie is a first-grade student who was nominated for Student of the Month by Makayla Gesualdo.
“I am thrilled to nominate Natalie Vasquez as a first-grade student of the month! She consistently displays outstanding academic performance. Natalie approaches each day with a positive attitude. She works hard on every task, whether it’s a challenging new concept or a simple review. She also consistently stays on track with all assignments, showing an incredible focus and dedication to learning. I am SO proud of Natalie! Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!”

Question: Why did you choose Primavera?
Information on this school was sent to us by a friend. We were looking for schooling with more flexibility, that allowed Natalie to participate in her ballet, tap and jazz dance classes as well as other sport leagues.
Question: What would you like your classmates to know about you?
My favorite colors are red, blue and all the colors in the rainbow. I love my mom, dad and baby brother very much. I have a dog named Ace that I play with too, he is a German Shepherd and has a lot of energy. I love learning and helping people. I love going to my dance classes to see my dance teachers and learn about ballet, jazz and tap dancing. My favorite foods are lasagna and Pizza Hut pizza (cheese please!). I am grateful to receive the Student of the Month and thank you to my teacher, Mrs. G. for all you do. Keep working hard and doing your best you guys.
Question: What makes you a successful student?
Working hard and trying my best.
Question: What advice would you give other students to be successful?
Try your best and get your work done, if you need help ask your mom or dad or grandma or Mrs. G. Try to make learning fun, even when it doesn’t feel fun.

Elementary School Student of the Month: James Marrufo
James is a 3rd-grade student who was nominated for Student of the Month by Siobhan Sullivan.
“James is an amazing student and human being! He lights up our live sessions with his humor and always has something to share. He helps his classmates when they’re stuck and is always willing to attempt an answer even if he doesn’t know. James has also made incredible academic growth. He went from not knowing all of his letters and numbers when I first met him in the summer of 2023 to being able to read a whole sentence using sight words and CVC words and do addition problems!”

Elementary School Student of the Month: Dax Elliott
Dax is a 4th-grade student who was nominated for Student of the Month by Lilette Smith Reeves.

Because in person was too hard for me.

I love Minecraft, Roblox, and Teardown.

I work hard every day and try my best to be on time for classes.

Always try your best and don’t guess on your tests.

Elementary School Student of the Month: Archer Kohn
Archer is a 5th-grade student who was nominated for Student of the Month by Gina Crow.
“Archer is an excellent student. He works hard to not only achieve A’s & B’s, but also to extend his learning beyond the classroom. Archer maintains good grades, completes all assignments on time, and sets an example for others. Way to go, Archer!”

Question: Why did you choose Primavera?
We chose Primavera because my son begged to be homeschooled after he was bullied by both his peers and his teacher. I asked around and researched and heard great things about your program.
Question: What would you like your classmates to know about you?
I love just chilling and hanging out with my friends, playing Roblox and Fortnite. I am a huge horror fan. I am an only child and I love that as I get all of my mom and dad’s attention. My favorite physical activities are jujitsu and swimming, I love to draw and I think I am pretty good at it for being 11.
Question: What makes you a successful student?
I think what makes me a successful student is that I try my hardest and when I do mess up I yell at myself it’s ok, we all make mistakes and that’s how we learn. I also make sure I write out a schedule to follow every day so I am prepared for my day!
Question: What advice would you give other students to be successful?
To never give up!!! Pace yourself and don’t talk down to yourself!! I come into the day every morning telling myself that no matter what I am great and will do the best I can do. Also take breaks when you get frustrated, coming back with a clear head can make all the difference.
Question: What do you want your teachers to know?
I want them to know that I appreciate them, since I have started Primavera the teachers have always been so supportive and have helped build my confidence back up, thank you for being so great and nice.
Middle School Student of the Month: Zoey Baird
Zoey is a 6th-grade student who was nominated for Student of the Month by Ashley Mitchell.
“Zoey is really shining in all her classes! She’s not only excelling but also showing so much respect and a positive attitude. Plus, she actively contributes during the live sessions, which is fantastic!”

Flexibly to do schoolwork on my own schedule.

I might seem introverted but once you get to know me I’m really outgoing!
Question: What makes you a successful student?
Participation!! It can help a lot if you engage in your classes.
Question: What advice would you give other students to be successful?
Get along with your teachers and classmates to make class easier!

I enjoy being in class with them because of their bright personalities and love their willingness to help!
Middle School Student of the Month: Isabella Syp
Isabella is a 7th-grade student who was nominated for Student of the Month by Jaren Hudgens.
“Bella is a hard worker, ensuring her homework is turned in and Exact Path is complete each week. She attends all of her live sessions, participates, and offers to help other classmates when needed. She reaches out when she needs help. Her desire to learn and grow means a lot to all of her teachers and we are very glad to have her in our classes. Keep up the hard work, Bella!”

Because Online was easiest and Primavera looked like the best option.

I love to crochet, and I’m obsessed with Chappel Roan.

I work hard each week, and study my stuff after hours.

To work hard and study whenever you can.

High School Student of the Month: Alexcia Conde
Alexcia is a 9th-grade student who was nominated for Student of the Month by Rachel Caylor.
“Alexcia attends live sessions and is active in class. Her hard work is evident when submitting assignments. Alexcia is sweet and supportive towards her classmates. Alexcia’s positive attitude alone is enough to make her Student of the Month!”

Question: Why did you choose Primavera?
I chose Primavera because I like that I can do my work anywhere and at any time.
Question: What would you like your classmates to know about you?
My name is Alexcia Conde, I am 14 years old. I am Native American, a member of the Tohono O’odham nation. I like playing volleyball and being a nail artist. I have two sisters.
Question: What makes you a successful student?
I have a schedule that I like to follow and I use the available tutoring when I need extra help.
Question: What advice would you give other students to be successful?
Study and ask questions because that’s what teachers are there for. Also use the tutoring, it’s free and helped me a lot when I was struggling with math.
Question: What do you want your teachers to know?
That they are doing a great job teaching me and I am so thankful for them. I will continue to strive to be on top of my classes. Thank you, Primavera!
High School Student of the Month: Annalissa Cox
Annalissa is an 11th-grade student who was nominated for Student of the Month by Victoria Payne.

Question: Why did you choose Primavera?
It was convenient and I heard good things about the school.

I am very shy but very welcoming.

I have self-discipline and determination to do good in school to help benefit my future.
Question: What advice would you give other students to be successful?
To push yourself to always do better.

I am hard worker and I don’t give up on my goals.
High School Student of the Month: Jocelyn Garcia Cortez
Jocelyn is a 12th-grade student who was nominated for Student of the Month by Michaela Sharif.
“Jocelyn is always on-task, on-time to live sessions, and very responsible. She turns in all her assignments on time and currently has a grade of 100% in one course! She makes other students feel welcome and appreciated through her words and kind comments to others. It is a pleasure to have Jocelyn in class.”

Question: Why did you choose Primavera?
My parents choose Primavera because they wanted an online school that would allow me to focus on school without the distractions of a classroom but still have access to teachers and live sessions.
Question: What would you like your classmates to know about you?
I would like my classmates to know that I’m kind and caring.
Question: What makes you a successful student?
My parents hold me accountable for my grades and I challenge myself to try to stay ahead and do better in all my classes.
Question: What advice would you give other students to be successful?
I would advise other students to stay on task, don’t procrastinate. Even if you’re unsure of your answers turn in your work on time because if you fall behind it’s really hard to get caught up, and communicate with your teachers especially if you are struggling.
Question: What do you want your teachers to know?
I want teachers to know that I’m really thankful for the help they gave me, and the time they spent explaining things to me.
